The Tournament
The Franco Chignoli Memorial is an exclusive event dedicated to the world’s top Under-11 teams.
In the unique setting of Lake Como, beauty and competition come together for two days of sport, development and shared experiences.
Franco Chignoli
The Memorial was created to honour the memory of Franco Chignoli, father of Olivier, founder of DiCOmo. Franco was born in 1951 into a humble post-war family and grew up surrounded by sacrifice, hard work and a strong sense of responsibility. After moving as a child to the eastern outskirts of Paris, he experienced a childhood marked by limited resources, developing early on a natural inclination towards commitment and generosity.
He devoted more than forty years to grassroots football, becoming an educational, fatherly and indispensable figure for hundreds of young people. He paid fees, lent equipment, drove children to matches, and contributed to tournaments and charitable initiatives: he helped everyone, never seeking recognition.
For many, he was a second father, an example of quiet, tangible presence. Even when illness struck, he remained a pillar for his community, leaving behind a profound moral legacy. Today, the Association preserves that heritage of values, keeping alive the mark Franco left on the heart of an entire city.
Location
The tournament takes place at the Eracle Sport FC, a multi-purpose sports facility affiliated with Milan Academy, featuring synthetic and natural grass football pitches, modern changing rooms, fully equipped gyms and a dedicated medical area.
